2019 WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
Bowen Li (25) from China is the winner of the 1st Prize in the International "Giorgos Thymis" Piano Competition 2019!!!
The three finalists together with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra and conductor Georgios Balatsinos performed the Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 by Sergei Rachmaninov (Bowen Li and Lev Terskov) and Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21 by F. Chopin (Aleksandr Zakharov)
1st Prize - Bowen Li (23) from China
2nd Prize - Lev Terskov (28) from Russia
3rd Prize and Audience Prize - Aleksandr Zakharov (19) from Russia
Prizes
1st prize -- 5000 euro, also include solo recitals in Greece and engagement with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra (soloist in a concerto).
2nd prize -- 3500 euro and a solo recital in Thessaloniki
3rd prize -- 2000 euro and a solo recital in Thessaloniki
